You know there's been a two-day holiday and you've both been cooped up in a 3-room apartment for hours upon hours when one of the two of you (who shall remain nameless) says to the other, "We've got to work on our Sponge Etiquette."
It is apparently written somewhere (the source has yet to be vetted) that if the other one of us (also nameless) leaves any of our 3 mini sponges in the water for anymore than 1.5 seconds, it is an affront to the cosmos which can only be repaired by a deep sense of regret, abject humility, and prostration before the offended sponges, asking for forgiveness which apparently is rarely, if ever, granted.

His Rightful Place - -
On the other hand, the next 4 or 5 days while we are in Vienna, Slovakia, and Veliko Tarnovo may allow the Sponge Trio to dry out, calm down, and grant a graceful pardon to the Offending One.
And it is possible that the Great and Mighty One of Sponge Etiquette may yet receive a promotion allowing international oversight, in which case he may soon be coming to -- your kitchen.

Haha, that reminds me of the day when dad had some kind of really long day at work, and came home and kept screaming "Ahhhh! Ahhhhhhh! My pen is attacking me! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" and would take his pen out of his pocket and simulate a pen attack. You can really tell when he's reached his limit.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious, both Aaron's comment and the blog. I can't stop laughing. You know, I know a guy just like dad. In fact, you could just replace all the places where it says "dad" with his and it would be just as believeable. Two very great men, living in amongst us mere mortals.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, very, VERY funny stuff.
You two, meaning mom and dad, are turning out to be two wild and crazy kids.
The Great and Mighty One of Sponge Etiquette taught me, as a boy, to carefully fold my toilet paper rather than just wad it up. I have been grateful ever since. I would like him to show up at my house and teach a certain someone how to close cupboards and drawers after they are no longer in use. You, the Offending One, should be ashamed of yourself for doubting his methods.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the folding of the toilet paper. It's kind of an odd process to watch, which is why I try my best to avoid it.
ReplyDeleteAnd, while The Great and Mighty One teaches "someone" to close cupboards and drawers, maybe he could teach "someone else" to put his shoes away.
P.S. those sponges look like they've seen better days. Maybe time to invest in some new ones, those things harbor germs like nothing else. :)
